Kidlington FC v Headington United FC

In 1950, Kidlington were drawn at home to local Southern League team Headington United (now known as Oxford United) in an extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup.

The match was played 2nd September but Kidlington gave up their ground advantage and the match was switched to the Manor Road Ground.

The Kidlington team was: S Simpson, Peter Beasley, Reg Hosier, Johnny Newman, Fred Treble (captain), Ron Giles, Lionel Davies (misspelt Davis in programme), Jimmy Ward, Ian Thorne, Jimmy Cox and Chris Harris.

Headington came out 6-0 winners but Kidlington's share of the gate money was an impressive £100.
